This particular copy comes directly from the personal record collection of prominent Trinidad disc jockey Donald "Sugar Fingers" Browne. I personally acquired the record from Browne at his home in Trinidad. Most importantly, the front cover is personally signed and inscribed by Ras Shorty I to "Sugar Fingers, " giving this copy a direct association between two figures in Trinidad's music and DJ history. Ras Shorty I (Garfield Blackman), formerly known as Lord Shorty, is widely recognized as one of the pioneers of soca music. After his spiritual transformation, he developed Jamoo, blending Caribbean music with spiritual and gospel themes. This 1984 album represents an important period in that evolution.
